Looking for the "Best Price"?
You may be disappointed.
The biggest error you could make when shopping for a limousine is searching based on PRICE. In the limousine industry, there are many variances of quality and price. All too often, a cheaper price translates into larger risk for you.

Most consumers would not choose a restaurant or hotel based on price, yet people shop for a limo service this way and expect 5-star quality. If you shop for a limousine service based on price alone, you will likely be frustrated and disappointed with your limousine experience.

Old, dirty, poorly maintained vehicles, shoddy service, unprofessional chauffeurs with poor hygiene, dangerous vehicles, and under-insured services are all possible results of a "best price" shopping priority.

RISKS YOU TAKE WHEN SHOPPING FOR A LIMOUSINE BASED ON PRICE ALONE.

  • Your limousine does not show up. You miss your plane.
  • Your limousine shows up late. You miss your plane.
  • Your limousine shows up with 4 other passengers already on board; you were not informed of this policy.
  • A 1987 model limousine rusting at the seams arrives at your door when you were expecting at a 1998 model. Instead of being lavished in luxury, you are embarrassed.
  • Your limousine shows up with an unprofessional chauffeur with poor hygiene.
  • Your limousine chauffeur exercises poor customer service with your company's most influential client. You loose the account.
  • Your limousine service gets into an accident and does not have proper insurance to cover the damages involved in your injuries.
  • Your limousine drops an axle during transport and you are injured. Turns out your service did not have the limousine safety inspected as state law mandates.
  • Your limousine breaks down on the freeway during transport to the Super Bowl. You and 7 of your friends missed the big game- but you saved $35.00.

Ask to see the company's vehicles.
Once again, check out the vehicle you plan on renting. Some companies utilize older fleets. You don't want to be surprised on your wedding day when a 1988 model limousine shows up. Web sites are also a good way to look at the limousine you want to rent.

Airport Transfer Costs - How it is determined.
To determine the cost of a limousine transfer to and from the airport, limousine services utilize several factors in determining price.
Vehicle required: Luxury sedans are the least costly, however can only transport up to 3 passengers. Cost increases directly proportionate to vehicle size.
Number of Passengers: More passengers, more cost.
Travel distance to your destination: The longer travel time, more cost. Private or Shared Ride?
Limousine services offers two alternatives in airport transportation -- SHARED and PRIVATE rides.
A private-ride is personal transportation for you and your party to and from the airport with no other stops or other passenger pickups.
Private rides are direct, door-to-door service. (Or, door-to-airport).
Most services offer private rides as their normal procedure.
Affordable Alternative to Taxi's Limousine service offers a valuable alternative to taxi's.
Taxi's can be unpredictable and usually don't know how to get to where you are going if it is out of their area.
The taxi meter usually keeps running even when the driver is lost.
Typically, limo transportation to or from the airport usually cost no more than a taxi service. When traveling with several people and the cost divided amongst riders, limo transportation is an affordable option.

Get A Signed Contract.
A reliable and professional service will be more than happy to provide you with a signed-contract for service. Companies who can't supply a contract may not be confident in their ability to fulfill.

Ask About Insurance and Permits.
All limousines are required to carry commercial insurance and proper permits. Unfortunately, the Yellow Pages and advertising services such as ours do not require the same in order to advertise. To protect yourself from "gypsy companies", ask for proof of these with your signed contract.

Ask About Industry Associations Companies who belong to industry associations usually must abide by special insurance regulations and service rules. Reputable associations such as the National Limousine Association (NLA) and the local livery association are good indications that your service provider does their due diligence. The Better Business Bureau also is a good research source- complaints about limousine services are not far behind auto mechanics complaints.

"The Limo Got Into An Accident!" Don't be the bride which gets the "The Limo Got Into An Accident" or "We don't have your reservation" story. Cover yourself by getting a signed contract and by shopping smart. Shopping on price alone is dangerous. Some unethical operators do not hesitate to drop a reservation to pickup a better paying fare.

Vehicle Rental Policies
In general, the BIGGER the limousine and the NEWER, the more expensive it will be to rent.
Here are the are 4 standard types of limousines operating today at their relative cost per hour to rent.
When booking a limousine, always make sure you know what kind of car you are getting. Simply being told a "8-passenger limousine" is not enough. Many smaller companies utilize older fleets. There currently are three Lincoln body styles of limousines on the market! Make sure you know which you are getting! You don't want to be surprised at your wedding when a 1988 stretch limousine appears at your doorstep when you were expecting a 1997 or 1998 model!

Most companies require a minimum 3 to 4 hour booking when making reservations. If you are looking for a wedding limousine for only 1 hour, you will have to do some searching. Many companies simply will not do it because of cost considerations. If you do find a company that will do your wedding for 1 hour, more than likely the limousine will be an older model vehicle or in the off season. There is nothing wrong with older model limousines; however we suggest you view any vehicle before you rent, especially one that is over 5 years old!

Deposits Required.
Most companies require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation with the balance due on the wedding day. If you cancel your reservation, your deposit can be forfeited. Such things can be outlined in the contract. Ask your selected company their policy.
